CoP over GOP

– There was a time when the American people closed ranks behind the winner after elections. Why? Because they could take it to the bank that the winner would uphold the constitution.
– To the bank?
– Well, that was before the financial crisis in 2008 and 2009, of course… By the way, didn’t Obama, who took office in 2009, do a wonderful job in fighting that crisis, leaving his successor a booming economy?
– Yeah, but you were trying to make a point, I believe.
– The point I want to make is that this time around, the American people can’t afford to wait until after the elections… they need to close ranks before!
– Behind which candidate?
– Isn’t that obvious? Behind the one candidate that promises to uphold the constitution, of course… as it has been upheld since 1789.
– You mean behind Harris, obviously. But even if my candidate wins… isn’t he sworn to uphold the constitution as well, at the inauguration on January 20?
– He’s the unchallenged champion when it comes to swearing, I’ll give you that. But, so far that’s all he’s been able to do… In my opinion, he’s all hat and no cattle!
– Point taken. To be honest with you, I’d rather have had Haley as GOP candidate. However, since she dropped out of that race, she’s backing Trump. Therefore, I feel I should vote for him…
– To be honest with you, I myself was a great admirer of Haley as well. But by backing Trump she’s proven to have all but spine. I’m afraid that Liz Cheney is the only one with balls within our GOP nowadays. She seems to be the only one who has the spine and steadfastness of character to choose Country over Party. She knows what’s at stake and seems to understand that there’s something greater than oneself and one’s career.
– Let me ruminate on that… Maybe I should sit this one out?
– Your choice, bro!
