After five years of austerity measures and cutbacks unemployment has skyrocketed in Greece. Saying “Austerity doesn’t work!” is stating the obvious.

Therefore, it should not have come as a surprise to the old guard that some youngsters suggested: Let’s try something else!
Yeah, let’s, consented the much criticised Greeks in unison.
No, let’s not, warned the old (La)guard parsimoniously, may we kindly suggest some more austerity measures! And, by the way, we want adults in the room, men with ties – say, the kind of well-bred and well-behaved ol’ boys we grew up with and bought their way to the top, easy-going and easy to… uhh, convince!
